Item Description:
I AM PLEASED TO SAY THAT MY HEADDRESS WILL BE FEATURED IN THE EBAY INSIDER THIS MONTH!!!!EVERY SERIOUS COLLECTOR OF FINE INDIAN ART WILL CONSIDER THIS INCREDIBLE EXQUISITE HEADDRESS. PLEASE NOTICE THE AMAZING USE OF SOUTHWESTERN COLORS AND ATTENTION TO THE EXTENSIVE BEADWORK. YOU ARE BIDDING ON ONE HEADDRESS BUT I AM SHOWING YOU 2 DIFFERENT COLOR COMBINATIONS THAT YOU MAY CHOOSE FROM. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL WARBONNET IN MINT CONDITION (STILL IN THE BOX). IT IS HANDCRAFTED BY NATIVE AMERICAN INDIANS ON THE PAWNEE RESERVATION IN PAWNEE, OKLAHOMA. THIS IS A FULL SIZE CAP OF GENUINE LEATHER (NOT CHEAP FELT). IT HAS A HEADBAND 10" LONG AND 1 3/4 INCH WIDE OF INTRICATE BEADWORK ADORNED BY A 2 1/2 INCH BEADED ROSETTE ON EACH SIDE WITH 3 EAGLE FEATHERS TRAILING DOWN ON EACH SIDE. THE WORKMANSHIP IS EXCELLENT. THERE ARE 30 EAGLE FEATHERS WRAPPED WITH RED FELT AT THE BASE. AT THE BASE AND TIPS OF EACH EAGLE FEATHER ARE NUMEROUS MARIBU FEATHERS. KEEP IN MIND THESE ARE NOT ORIGINAL EAGLE FEATHERS, THAT WOULD BE ILLEGAL. THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL SIMULATED EAGLE FEATHERS. THIS IS A MAGNIFICENT PEICE OF ART WORK THAT YOU WILL CHERISH FOREVER. HIGH BIDDER IS TO PAY 15.00 FOR S/H AND INSURANCE. ALL PERSONAL CHECKS MUST CLEAR 10 DAYS BEFORE SHIPPING. INTERNATIONAL COST MAY VARY. THANK YOU AND ENJOY THE AUCTION. Rob's comment
As correspondent Firehair noted in response to this item:  "To put such a head dress, real or not, on a child, and a female at that, is totally incorrect, wrong, both morally, traditionally and historically."
