Stereotype of the Month Entry
(9/16/01)

Another Stereotype of the Month entry—a comment from a Choctaw friend in the wake of the 9/11 holocaust:

The hate is at the core. yesterday a american called me a faggot arab as i was at a store close to my house.

This woman lives near San Diego. To anyone who knows Native people, I don't think you'd mistake her for a Latino or Asian—the most common misidentifications.

And Arab? No way. She doesn't look more Arab than any American with brownish skin.

People who hate people: When will it end?

Note: Since this entry comes from a lone nutcase, it's not strictly eligible for this contest. But I think it's so representative of many Americans' beliefs that it should be posted for everyone to see.
