Team Names and Mascots
(3/7/03)

Another response to Team Names and Mascots:

>> It is interesting that someone at least acknowledges the issue of non-Native American Ethnic team names. <<

People have protested such names as Crusaders, Cossacks, and Demons for similar reasons. If there were teams named Caucasians, Negros, or Jews, I imagine people would protest them too. If the Irish were upset with Notre Dame's Fighting Irish, they could protest it and I think Native people would support them.
