Kokopelli a Hindu God?
(1/14/06)

A response to Kokopelli a Hindu God?:

Hi! Robert,

I'm a hopi from Moenkopi (munqu-pi) villiage, I really thought this person was on the right track when i read his article on Viewzone.com, on the kokopelli being a Hindu, upon reading another one of his books," The Last Atlantis Book",I began to get a little suspecious on some of his so-called proofs and the thing he was writing about the Hopi and the Hopi Traditionalist as being "champion con-men of the Americas or champion conned." I contacted Mr. Matlock trough a mutual acquaintance who had his E-mail Address and been having a dialog with him, one of the first questions I was asked if I knew a Robert Schmidt, and I said "no", anway he goes on to say that he thinks that he (robert) works for the Hopi Tribe in come capacity.

After reading your interview with Gene, I began to understand his stereotyping of my tribe, I want to Thank you for opening my eyes to individuals like Gene, i still talk with him, but with a little more caution.

Thanks again, My Best,

Ros

Ros,

Matlock's theory is that all American Indians came from India, you know. That American Indian languages, including Hopi, derive from Sanskrit. If this were true, it would negate the archaeological record of the Pueblo Indians in the Southwest. It would also negate the Hopi creation story of emerging from the Third World to the Fourth.

Given that, I'm not sure why any Hopi would take Matlock seriously. I'm glad you've begun to question his claims.

Needless to say, I don't work for the Hopi Tribe. I think Matlock is sore because I trashed his arguments and he couldn't touch my counterarguments.

You're welcome!

Rob
