Indigenous inspires with new album

Native American band to play at the Orpheum TheaterEven though he writes about growing up on the Yankton Indian Reservation in the song "Place I Know," Mato Nanji, lead guitarist and vocalist for nationally recognized blues-rock band Indigenous, says his music spans a wider audience.

"I think a lot of people can connect with that song--not just the Native American community but all communities."

The title of Indigenous' latest album comes from lyrics to this song on his latest album "Broken Lands," which was released Tuesday.
