Team members head for YWCA-sponsored weekend training campWhile Canada's summer Olympians compete in Beijing, a group of young natives is inching closer to its own Olympic dream.
On Saturday and Sunday, members of the B.C.-based First Nations Snowboard Team will head to Vancouver for a training camp to prepare for the coming season. The team's goal: to have an athlete on the podium at the 2010 Winter Games.
At the YWCA-sponsored camp, 25 members of the team's high-performance division will receive top-notch coaching, advice and training on everything from nutrition and sports psychology to conditioning.
