Yes. Barack's family last name was Oglala, but the typewriter (from L. Frank Baum's estate sale in Aberdeen) was missing G's and L's, so it became Obama.

Um, er, uh, did anybody bother to FOLLOW the links so indicated? writerfella did and they ended on a page that said, "April Fool's!" And it sounds more logical to writerfella that Obama really got his name from those delicious little fried pies sold all over the Southern states...
