Yellowtail may have held fairly high offices and positions, but he in fact is guilty of the very same EuroMan and/or Native diminutions of Natives in general. And those are the reductions of living Native people into safely compartmentalized numbers and percentages and percentiles. So many percent of this and so much a degree of that, rendering Natives into bloodless, faceless, emotionless, and impersonal statistics. While at one and the same time, persons such as Yellowtail thereby elevate themselves outside of those same numbers. Remember the pigs in Orwell's ANIMAL FARM? "All animals are created equal, but some animals are created more equal than others..."
