Did Karl May influence Hitler?

Here's a long and fairly tedious debate on the subject:

"Obviously Hitler was fascinated by the Manifest Destiny idea but he sure didn't get those ideas from Karl May."

I wouldn't recommend it unless you're fascinated by the subject. In terms of originality and creativity, it's definitely one of my lesser efforts. But I include it for the sake of completeness.
