School district keeps 'Fools Crow' in curriculumA literary review committee with the Helena School District decided to keep “Fools Crow” by James Welch on the approved list in the English curriculum at the high school level.
The review of the controversial book was prompted by a complaint at the end of the 2006-07 school year from Christy Dighans, the parent of a high school student.
Dighans said at the time she thought the book has explicit sexual and violent content that is inappropriate for high school sophomores whose hormones are already raging.
