Native women are invisible
Statistics on violence nothing newWhen Amnesty International released a study April 24 showing that American Indian women are 2.5 times more likely to be raped or sexually assaulted than women of other ethnic groups, Karen Artichoker didn't bat an eye.
"What's new?" said Artichoker, director of Cangleska at Kyle. "Indian women are the most victimized population in the United States, and no one cares."
Artichoker said the statistics reported by Amnesty International first came out in 1998. Now that the human rights organization has publicized them, people are reacting with surprise.
"I just think it points to how invisible Native people are, and particularly Native women," she said.

the American indian women is one of the most milking, hamming up bitch the world ever seen!
First off let me say, what is being given to the native american's isnt enough! You have no right to throw your silly ignorant comments around like that. If you would pull your head out of your ass and look around we all are not americans. The "True American’s are the Native American’s" We have taken so much from them, it is time to give back. This land belonged to the Native’s, our people killed murdered and raped these innocent people because they were too greedy.
When I look at the Native American people I see the "True American’s".
Thanks for setting Anonymous #1 straight, Anonymous #2.
Americans have given Indians condos?! Thanks for showing us how ignorant you are, #1.
