Apaches look for Bigfoot

Ft. Apache reports spur Bigfoot huntFor centuries, tiny spirit people have been a part of Apache culture, haunting the night with mischief, playing tricks in the shadows.

Now, the White Mountain Apache Tribe has another mystical being to watch for after dark: Bigfoot.

In recent months, the legendary creature purportedly has been chased by police officers, spotted by campers and caught peeking through windows of tribal residents' homes.

I'm going to take a wild stab and guess that Russell Bates (writerfella) will have something to say about this posting. ;-)

Writerfella here --
Of course and why not? After nearly 50 years of not looking that hard, writerfella finally saw his first BigFoot this past fall. He had heard the creature's horrid gargling cry once before maybe six years ago. And sightings in the SW Oklahoma area rival those being made in the southeastern part of the state. In "The Last Quest," a seminal character in writerfella's story series for FIFTH AND LAST HORSEMAN goes to the BigFoot near Mt. Shasta to try to find his place in today's world.
As for the reality of the being, Kiowas fervently believe in the Khot-Saw-Pohl, the 'pointed head giant' and any Kiowa grandmother only has to sing the Khot-Saw-Pohlee song to get her grandchildren to rush indoors and behave themselves.
There is a catalogued branch of Homo erectus known as Tautavel Man, suspected as having crossed the Bering Strait from Asia two or three Ice Ages ago. In the volume AMERICAN GENESIS, Tautavel Man evolved into a parallel form of humankind and those became the Natives known on both American continents. Further, Tautavel Man still may exist in the nether reaches of the continent today, being fleetingly seen and witnessed as the BigFoot. There are over 540 names for such a creature among the surviving Native tribes today. We all knew him, we still are here, and so is he...
