Resentments such as the one reported here very much are the same as those held against Wal-Mart when the merchandising giant moves into areas that traditionally were mom-pop friendly. Various members of that community obviously are acrimonious because there was little that could be done to prevent an enterprise from locating in their vicinity. The ordinary result from such umbrage is to foment racism or discrimination as the response. It only proves that, supposedly in a PC age, the real emotions on the part of 'the dominant society' still are the same as they always were. If the casino in question was state-owned or Caucasian-owned, there would be no complaint whatsoever. What a world, what a world...

In my stereotype writeups, I note that people rarely protest the non-Indian casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, etc.--even though these casinos make up two-thirds of the industry.
